I love Greek mythology. What I found funny though is how Aprodite was born. Kronos cut off Uranus' sexual organs and threw them into the sea and Aphrodite was born from that foam. And I don't like how Kronos swallowed his kids and when Zeus was with Mestis and she got pregnant Zeus swallowed her because he was afriad of the children.
They are kind of cruel that they'd do that to their family. And I do not like Hera because she is a crazy killing freak for Zeus's kids but she's the patron goddess of children. I would be mad too but I would expect that of Zeus. My favorite Greek mythology related book though is the Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riodon. They are amazing:).
I love greek mythology. They are very interesting. I couldnt help but notice the family resemblence where everyone wants to rule and be selfish. Especially kronos and zeus who ignorantly ate their children because of the fear of being overthrown by their own children. But it is still very fascinating. I came to know the greek mythology through the novel Percy Jackson series. It almost tells all the whole story of greek mythology and how it is all related with one and another.
But i am very dissapointed with the movie. It is nothing like the novel. I really love this website. If i could choose which god i wanted to be, i would choose poseidon. I noticed that adultery is looked at as negative for both male and female parties in the article but couldn't help but notice that men all throughout Greek mythology slept with many different women.
For example, Zeus and his many affairs with humans and goddess', Odysseus and his many sexual relationships with women he came across on his adventure to Ithica, and many more stories of men falling 'victim' to the powers of lust. Maybe it wasn't horrible in the view of early Greeks to be unfaithful and male.
